Developing Leadership Teams

Across cultures and centuries, leadership has never been a solo act. The quality of collective leadership has always determined whether ambition turns into impact.

Today’s senior teams face unprecedented complexity and uncertainty. Trust, alignment, and the ability to speak honestly under pressure are no longer “soft” factors — they are decisive capabilities.

I work as a Partner at SUM, a global leadership consultancy supporting senior leadership teams, boards, and organizations in navigating complexity, building trust, and strengthening collective leadership.

My role within this work is to guide leadership teams on their journeys to become places where performance, collective responsibility, and human connection reinforce one another.

My signature as a team coach
I bring an uncommon blend of business acumen, human development expertise, and systemic awareness — shaped by more than two decades of work with senior leadership teams across cultures and continents. Trained as an industrial engineer and former McKinsey consultant, I later devoted my work to leadership and team development, integrating modern organizational practice with deeper insights into how groups think, decide, and act together.

What experience has taught me — and what ancient traditions already knew — is this: team effectiveness depends less on individual brilliance than on the quality of the shared space: trust, rhythm, and commitment to a shared vision, grounded in purpose.

I work with leadership teams across three tightly connected dimensions:

It — Direction, decisions, and execution
Clarifying purpose, strategy, priorities, and the operating logic that turns intent into results.

We — Trust, alignment, and collective leadership
Strengthening the relational field of the team so difficult conversations happen, tensions are worked through, and intelligence is shared rather than withheld.

I — Leadership presence and responsibility
Supporting each leader in seeing how their habits, reactions, and leadership style shape the system — and where greater maturity unlocks progress.

Typical challenges senior teams face

Even the most talented leadership teams can struggle when:

IT — When the system is under strain

  • Strategic priorities are clear on paper, but don’t translate into coordinated action across the organization

  • Roles, decision rights, and processes no longer match the complexity of the work
WE — When collective leadership starts to fray

  • The senior team is newly formed, reshaped, or operating under a restated mandate

  • Trust feels thin, hard conversations are avoided, and real alignment doesn’t quite land

I — When Personal Leadership is under Pressure

  • Individual leadership styles or habits begin to limit how the team works together

  • Every member is operating at full pace — leaving little space for reflection, recalibration, or renewal

The work with your team — and with you as its leader — is about addressing these challenges together, not in isolation. We focus on creating the spaces for the essential and strengthening the conditions that allow for great leadership to show up consistently.

Next Step

Leadership team work starts with a shared conversation about context.

We’ll explore the mandate you’re operating under, the challenges you’re facing as a team, and what kind of support would genuinely move things forward.

This initial exchange is a way to sense whether the work is timely, relevant, and worth committing to — for you and for the team.
