Coaching Executive Leaders

A trusted thought partnership for leaders carrying real responsibility

Executive coaching, as I practice it, is a space for leaders who carry complex responsibility — for results, people, and direction — and who want a clear, independent thinking partner along the way.

I offer this work  as a partner at SUM, a global leadership consultancy supporting senior leaders and leadership teams across industries and regions.

Most of the leaders I work with are not looking for advice or answers. They are looking for clarity, perspective, and leverage — in how they think, decide, and lead.

This is work at the intersection of business reality and leadership maturity, where inner mastery and outer impact are inseparable.

This page offers orientation: how I work, what kind of partnership this is, and what you can expect — from me, and from yourself.

“When you grow, everything else around you grows."
What brings you to coaching right now?

Leaders usually come to this work with very concrete concerns:

When the business context shifts (IT)
  • You are stepping into a new role, mandate, or level of complexity
  • The organization is restructuring, scaling, or operating under tighter expectations
  • Strategy looks clear on paper, but execution is harder than it should be
When more collective leadership is needed (WE)
  • You are leading a senior team that isn’t quite working as well as it needs to

  • Tension, alignment, or trust issues keep resurfacing to the top
  • Board, investor, or shareholder expectations pull the organization in different directions
When your own way of leading is part of the problem (I)
  • You are pursuing ambitious goals — and you sense that how you lead is now a main accelerator or constraint.
  • Certain situations, people, or conflicts bring out a toxic side of you

  • You want a coaching partner who can challenge you honestly — without psychologizing you

When pace outruns purpose (SPIRIT)
  • You want space to think beyond daily demands and constant urgency
  • You are questioning what the organization is truly in service of — now and next
  • You care about leading in a way that is effective and sustainable over time
This is where I support you — as a thinking and practice partner — so your growth creates room for others, and the organization, to grow as well.
“As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.”
– Rumi
Where do you want the coaching to take you?

I invite you to think of your leadership as a craft. A martial artist, musician, or master craftsperson doesn’t relate to their work as a series of problems to fix. They treat it as a practice — something refined over time through real conditions, feedback, and discipline. From that perspective, leadership is not about reacting to circumstances. It is about using them as material to hone how you lead.

Coaching often begins with urgent challenges — decisions that won’t settle, teams that aren’t quite working, pressure that keeps rising. I take those seriously.

At the same time, I invite you to consider a more generative question:

Beyond fixing what’s urgent, what kind of leadership do you want to be practicing?

In our work together, we don’t just respond event by event. We define a personal path of mastery — grounded, practical, and tailored to your context. That path becomes clearer through a few shared waypoints:

  • Where you are now — your strengths, limits, and default responses under pressure
  • What this moment demands — from your role, your team, and the system you’re leading
  • Your distinctive way of leading — what’s authentic, effective, and already working
  • How that way of leading can evolve — so progress is paced, visible, and sustainable over time

This work is not a series of fixes. It is about mature leadership, practiced consciously under real conditions. When leadership becomes a craft, growth stops being accidental — and everything around you has room to grow.

“If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.”
– Lao Tzu
What will we focus on?

We work across four interconnected dimensions of leadership — because real progress rarely sits in just one place.

It — Business and systems

Strategy, priorities, decision-making, execution, and the structures you are responsible for.

We — Relationships and leadership teams

Trust, alignment, tension, collaboration, and how leadership actually functions at the top.

I — Your way of leading

The habits, reactions, and choices you bring into pressure-filled situations — often invisibly.

Spirit — Meaning, rhythm, and responsibility

Direction, pace, sustainability, and what your leadership ultimately serves.

Strong leadership integrates all four. When one is neglected, progress slows elsewhere.

We start where the pressure is highest — and where a shift will make the biggest difference.

“Insight changes how we see.
Practice changes how we live.”
How will we work together?

We’ll design a pathway toward your next level of mastery — blending your outer game (strategy, relationships, performance) with your inner game (presence, judgment, purpose).

What makes this work distinctive is not a method, but a way of working — grounded in wisdom, anchored in real leadership situations, and sustained over time.

Four elements matter most:

1. Rhythm — not ad-hoc conversations

We establish a cadence that fits your reality. Coaching works when it becomes part of how you lead, not another interruption. Regularity creates depth. Depth creates traction.

2. Real life — not post-mortems

We work with decisions, conversations, and tensions as they unfold — shaping leadership in the moment, not analysing it after the fact.

3. Small impulses that change practice

Between sessions, you’ll test simple, targeted shifts in how you notice, decide, and intervene — refinements to how you already lead.

4. Time — long enough for patterns to reveal themselves

A sustained partnership allows leadership patterns and narratives to surface — so we can examine them, test alternatives, and refine how you lead over time.

Individual sessions matter. The real value lies in continuity.

The quality of our results is determined by the quality of our conversations.”

What do I bring to our coaching partnership?

My clients value this work for the quality of partnership we build over time — grounded, rigorous, and anchored in the realities of senior leadership. I work at the intersection of strategy, leadership development, and wisdom-based practice — a space often discussed, but rarely practiced with discipline.

I bring:

A strong business and strategy foundation

I’m an industrial engineer by training, with a business education and a background as a management consultant at McKinsey. I understand strategy, performance pressure, governance, and the operating realities of senior roles.

Long-term experience with senior leaders and teams

For over 25 years, I’ve worked with CEOs, founders, country managers, and senior leadership teams across industries and cultures — supporting growth, transitions, and high-stakes decisions.

Professional coaching and facilitation depth

I’m trained as an executive and team coach, drawing on developmental, systemic, and organizational methods, as well as large-group facilitation.

Wisdom-based leadership, practiced — not preached

I integrate modern leadership science with time-tested wisdom traditions to support judgment, timing, and proportion under real pressure.

Working with leadership patterns without psychologizing

We address behavior, habits, narratives, and their impact — clearly and directly — without turning coaching into therapy or reducing leadership challenges to personality stories.

A design mindset for leadership practice

Together, we design conversations, interventions, and rhythms that translate insight into repeatable leadership practice — in real situations, not abstract models.

This work is informed by my lived experience across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East — from startups to global corporations, NGOs, and multilateral institutions.

I meet you as a peer in responsibility, and work with you on what will most strengthen your leadership, your teams, and the systems you shape — over time.
